Benjamin Ryan's Biography
Once upon a time, there was a military brat named Benjamin Ryan, who traveled the world and embraced every unique experience he encountered. Being the new kid in town wasn’t always easy, and as he struggled with weight issues, he also had to deal with the hardships of teasing, male friendship, and acceptance. But, he was determined to find his place in the world and used his love for writing to create adventures that would transport him to a different world, where he could see things from a new perspective. Through his writing, Benjamin Ryan discovered his authentic self and found a way to inspire others. Armed with degrees in Art History, Education and World Religions, he became a New York City public Special Ed teacher, where he uses whimsy, creativity, and acceptance to inspire the youth of tomorrow. And thus, Benjamin Ryan was born—an author that embraces the power of storytelling to inspire and create change. With a deep understanding of the struggles that come with being different, Benjamin Ryan creates content that speaks to the heart and soul of their audience. He is active on twitter in the writing community (@BRClothwrites), hosting writing prompts, engaging with life’s unique perspectives, and inspiring others to create their truths.

Since I was 7 I have been writing short stories and manuscripts. My life long dream was to share the adventures I create in my head with the world! They are my escape and your enjoyment! My plots get obsessively weird, and the characters become unquestionably crazy. Could there be anything more delicious than that? I think not.

Meet Murder Llama. He was a build-a-bear creation. His back story came out of nowhere, like most of my characters. At night he "kills" those I despise. In the morning I clean the blood from his little paws and snuggle with him before work. Creativity can be in anything we do and I use mine constantly in every part of my life! 🦙🔪🩸

Art and expression fuels my soul. They say that the only definition for something to be art is for it to elicit an emotional response. I create "emotional reactions" through artwork, design, cooking, fashion, music, humor, and writing. The artist in me thrives, as does it in each one of you.

Living with Insulin Resistance, and having reached 353 pounds while being handed a death sentence is a lot for anyone. Determination and hard work can make any impossibility a reality. I have gone through several major surgeries to reshape my body. No one has to be perfect to be beautiful. Never forget this.

So many sad and terrible things happen to us each and every day. We fight constantly for what we want, and despite it all, we never seem to get it. While life may be difficult, it is also filled with real moments, joyful ones, brilliant ones. Moments to treasure and never forget.
